How To - Yule Table Centrepiece

Hello and welcome to our blog. Today we are looking how to festive up our already beautiful Trinity Candle Set to use as a centrepiece for your Yule dinner table. We love making our own Yule decorations using natural and sustainable materials. We managed to get all of these materials from our local woodland apart from the florist wire, but you should be able to get what you need from your local florist.
-
To start you will need:
-
-
1. Florist Wire
2. 4 - 5 Green (Just Cut) Hazel Branches
3. 3 - 4 Types of hardy greens. We used Red Cedar, Silver Fir, Douglas Fir and Himalayan Cedar.
4. Other decoration of your choice such Pine Cones, Holly and/or dried orange slices.

-
Begin by binding the hazel branches together using the wire. Its good to stagger the branches a little as it will make the next step easier.
-
-
-
-
Carefully bend the branches into a rough circle and again use the wire to secure them. I like to put a few wraps of wire in sections around the ring to make it extra secure
-
-
-
-
Once you have your ring made and secure, place it over your Trinity Set to make sure it fits. If it is too large or small make any adjustments you need.

Now it fits you can start adding the greenery. I like to sort the sprigs by first trimming them to a similar size, and then placing them out on the table by type. I then pick one and stack it, grab the next then stack it etc. I usually put the flattest one first, in this case the Red Cedar, then place the more rounded sprigs one on top of the other.

-
Now the fun bit. Using the wire, secure the first bunch to the hazel ring. Wrap the wire tightly around the end three times but don't cut it, Lay the reel of wire down and grab the next bunch of greens. Pull the wire tight and again, wrap around three times then repeat.
-
-
-
-
Keep Adding the bunches until you fill the hazel ring. Once full, flip the wreath over and cut the wire. Tuck the end of the wire through a couple of the branches out of the way.
-
-
-
-
This is the wreath done! You can add embellishments to it if you like, we tend to add Pinecones and/or Holly sprigs. Place your Trinity Set on a heatproof tray and place the wreath over the top.

And there you have it, a great table centrepiece for when dining with family or friends. You can also use on the coffee table or on the fireplace for a nice warm atmospheric glow on winter evenings.
